Dessert Auction

Members look forward to the long-standing tradition of the annual Dessert/Decor Auction. It is held the Tuesday before Thanksgiving every year. Actually, whoever conceived of this idea was a brilliant thinker. Ladies often need that one extra dessert to boost the menu for their family celebration. And we often run right out of cooking time to make one.  So at the event members not only compete to create wonderful dessert presentations, but we are our own best customers competing against each other for that tasty box of famous fudge, or that beautiful center piece of flowers from a local florist. This is the only fund-raiser that our club does to get funds for our administrative operations to manage the club's budget.  We do not use money donated from the community for our Administrative Fund. And our admin costs are kept very low.  The event is held at noon at Twain Harte Golf Club the Tuesday of Thanksgiving week and has only been cancelled once do to heavy snow, at least in recent memory. Guests are welcome with reservations prior to the day of the sale.

See's Candy Sales

Soroptimist began selling See's Candy to themselves over the holidays and then sales expanded to our local Thrift Shop.  The Thrift Shop closed in the mid-1990's and Soroptimist sold the property where shop was located. 
One of our seasoned members, Willy Evans and her husband, Chuck, extended a priceless opportunity to our club when they offered to sell See's Candy in the very popular local Twain Harte Market.  When new market owners, Linda & Bob Parriott, came on board they began to work with Soroptimist, too, to continue sales of See's Candy at the market and we are still selling it there today.  Shelves are stocked on a regular basis with the most popular types of candy selections and seasonal wrapping appears on boxes for major holidays. There's nothing like a gift of See's to show appreciation for nearly every occasion you can imagine!  THANK YOU TO TWAIN HARTE MARKET FOR OUR COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP in SELLING SEE'S!
